how lucky we are
I am nothing without Christ in me.

"College kids literally don’t care about walking in the way of cars at school because we’re like “hit me i don’t care pay my tuition."

It’s tempting to be the victim because people pay attention to you when you’re the victim. They comfort you and they sympathize with you. Sometimes the fear is that if we’re no longer a victim then no one will pay attention to us at all. But there is no growth or change in the victim mindset. Sometimes someone hasn’t oppressed us enough for us to be the victim we want to be, so we have to make them out to be a bigger oppressor than they actually are. In this case, they become the victim and we become the oppressor.
The victim mentality never actually serves anyone at all.
Think about the people you’re hurting by accusing them of being an oppressor. Some people are actually bullies, but some people are just human and they make mistakes."

"Nothing is a waste of time if you use the experience wisely."
"I am not a graceful person. I am not a Sunday morning or a Friday sunset. I am a Tuesday 2am, I am gunshots muffled by a few city blocks, I am a broken window during February. My bones crack on a nightly basis. I fall from elegance with a dull thud, and I apologize for my awkward sadness. I sometimes believe that I don’t belong around people, that I belong to all the leap days that didn’t happen. The way light and darkness mix under my skin has become a storm. You don’t see the lightning, but you hear the echoes."
